Dear SVMS Parents,
Come join us for a night of fun Wednesday, October 13th for the Southview Family Literacy Engagement Night!
There will be root beer floats, activities, comic book/book giveaways, and more! Please RSVP by contacting the school so we know how much food to buy. All family members are welcome to attend.
REPORT CARDS | The end of the grading period is Friday, October 15th. We will NOT distribute printed report cards. Parents are encouraged to access their student’s information online through PowerSchool. If you desire a paper copy of your student’s report card, it will be run for you at the building.
Parent/Teacher conferences will take place Thursday, October 28th from 3:30 PM to 9:30 PM in person at Southview.
If you are unable to attend, we encourage you to reach out to your student’s teachers via phone, email, Class Dojo, Clever and/or Google Classroom. If you do not know how to check on your student’s academic progress, are having trouble with your device/internet, and or need a Parent Portal Letter to access your student’s current grades in PowerSchool, please contact the school.
There will be no school for students Friday, October 29th.
We plan to acknowledge our students who achieve High Honor Roll, Honor Roll, Merit Roll and Attendance Certificates for the first grading period on the morning of Friday, November 5th. This first awards assembly is student-only. We anticipate inviting families to future award assemblies as conditions improve regarding the pandemic. We plan to have a live video feed in order for families to view virtually.
WINTER SPORTS | 7th and 8th grade student-athletes who wish to participate in Winter Sports must pass 4 out of 5 classes. This includes itinerant classes (gym, computer, band, and art.)
FINALFORMS | It is critical that we have your up-to-date contact information updated in FinalForms. To date, just 23.1% of our students are COMPLIANT for the 2021-22 school year.

In order to get started, just click on this link and click on “new account” under the parent icon to create an account and get up and running. This is a mandatory process for all families. You must create an account in FinalForms in order to submit the required EMA information, gain access to our student handbook, student code of conduct, etc. If you encounter any difficulties, don’t hesitate to stop in our Main Office and we can walk you through the process.
BOOK FAIR | Our Scholastic Book Fair is taking place Thursday, October 21st through Thursday, October 28th. More details to come.
