She graduated from Lorain High School in January 1949 and was Treasurer of her graduating class. She has written many best selling novels and is a winner of a Pulitzer Prize and a Nobel Prize. Among her best known novels are The Bluest Eye, Song of Solomon and Beloved. She is Lorain’s only Nobel Laureate. She later changed her name to Toni Morrison.
